I'm a fan of This snack time activity was inspired by one of my latest pins via Pinterest . When I first started using it I just pinned things like crazy and never did anything with them. A few months ago I started cleaning up my boards and began making them work for me. Aside from pinning recipes and home improvement ideas, I love pinning fun things to do with my kids.http://artfulparent.com/2012/05/edible-art-grape-toothpick-sculptures.html. Toothpicks, grapes, creativity and fun. It sounded like a great activity to me. So, a couple of days ago, I served up a little fun with our morning snack. The kids loved it. My daughter is a super picky eater and does not like grapes. She did pick one up and lick it, a huge win. But she loved building and creating worms, and airplanes for nearly an hour with her grapes and toothpicks. She couldn't get enough. My son enjoyed that activity too. We had a blast trying to design a race car that rolled. Admittedly that was more challenging than I thought it would be, but well worth watching him problem solve his way through it. This Momma gives this activity two thumbs up and thinks that we just might be playing with our food a bit more often around here! |
